Romans 4:17
as it is written, “A father of many nations have I made you” in the presence of Him whom he believed, even God, who gives LIFE (to make alive, give life, quicken, vitalize) to the dead and calls into being that which does not exist.
Literal translation: “calls the things which do not exist as existing.” God is a creator!
John 11: 20-26 Lazarus, Mary, and Martha
Martha therefore, when she heard that Jesus was coming, went to meet Him, but Mary stayed at the house. Martha then said to Jesus, “Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died. Even now I know that whatever You ask of God, God will give You.” Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again.” Martha said to Him, “I know that he will rise again in the resurrection on the last day.” Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the LIFE; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies, and everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?”
John 14:1-6 Let not your heart be troubled
Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also. And you know the way where I am going.” Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, how do we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the LIFE; no one comes to the Father but through Me.
John 1:1-5 In the beginning was the Word, Life, Light
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. In Him was LIFE, and the life was the Light of men. The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.
1 John 1:1-5 The Word of LIFE, God is Light
What was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we have looked at and touched with our hands, concerning the Word of LIFE— and the life was manifested, and we have seen and testify and proclaim to you the eternal LIFE, which was with the Father and was manifested to us— what we have seen and heard we proclaim to you also, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ. These things we write, so that our joy may be made complete. This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all.
Philippians 2:14-16 Holding fast the word of Life
Do all things without grumbling or disputing; so that you will prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent, children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you appear as lights in the world, holding fast the word of LIFE, so that in the day of Christ I will have reason to glory because I did not run in vain nor toil in vain.
Zoe is Greek word for life. The life that is God. The life of God. Some may say: The life that sustains God.
